Endorsements are here

The Times-Mirror's campaign coverage is heading into the home stretch -- we came out Oct. 24 with endorsements of several key contested local and state races.

Agree or disagree, this is what makes America great – the First Amendment.

Keep in mind, these endorsements are our opinion. I have worked in this business since November 1969. I can't ever remember an election being decided by a newspaper, radio or television station. And I doubt any online pundits will determine this year's outcome in Loudoun.

The voters decide the issues. The voters need to get involved. They are the ones who evaluate the candidates.

Hold on tight -- it should be a wild ride to the finish, the night of Tuesday, Nov. 6.

How can this paper possibly endorse Scott York, after he gets his employer's property remapped in a CPAM from keynote employment to Residential, and had the gall to brag that he does not take contributions from Residential builders (just a six figure salary?) And after special exception uses magically appeared on his employer's property after they applied for a special exception, citizens opposed it, staff recommended denial, and the application was withdrawn. How did this happen? Scott York to the rescue, the uses were somehow administratively approved without required public hearings. This paper is a joke, you care so little about integrity.
SAVE LOUDOUN from Scott York. Vote for honest, open, fair government, not insiders gaming the system for their own personal benefit...selective enforcement of the law or targeting of innocent citizens York style.
And Vote Lori Waters out, too--she is just as bad, going along with York, closing her eyes to the corruption in her district with his employer's property...these two are the worst, pointing fingers at the others, when they are GUILTY.

For the record, sallymann is working closely with Scott York's opponent. Grains of salt are required when reading any of her diatribes.

Isn't election season fun?

For the record, I am not working for any campaign, Mr. Burkenator, if that is a real name. I have done my own research having witnessed corruption at the county first hand, and I am on a mission to expose people like Scott York and Lori Waters, who pretend to represent the people, but allow their special customers (for York, it is his employer, Service Star) free rein to do whatever, and then persecute other innocent citizens (like me.) Even the zoning administrator wrote in a memo that it was really "bugging" her that they were trying to "slip in" a retail center in an industrial zone, but what could she do about it?

York and Waters both should get the boot, for dishonoring the public trust in such a blatant, arrogant way--stacks of emails, not even trying to hide...

Why are you always surrounded by Firetti's campaign staff? Do you deny meeting and working with that staff?

edmundburkenator, I was asked to come to a press conference to ask for Scott York's resignation as Chairman, and present what I have found through FOIA's to all members of the press. Is that what you are talking about? I just met their campaign manager less than 2 weeks ago, and he came up to me after a public appearance I made to ask questions about my research. My research shows that special exception uses, and other uses, were installed at York's employers' property after a special exception applicationn was withdrawn, recommended for denial by the county. What York has done is wrong, and he should not be running for our Board, he should not be Chairman, and we should not vote for him.

Clem knows his stuff -- experience is the key in that race.

Waters really works hard in Broad Run District, just like Snow in Dulles and Bruton and Kurtz in their Districts.

Give York another chance. He'll surprise us.

sallymann, do you think Snow's relationship with Dietz is ok?

>double-standard warning<
