Bulldog football ranked nationally
Stone Bridge High School is off to a blazing start this season after winning its first Virginia Division 5 championship in 2007. The Bulldogs have defeated a pair of quality opponents -- West Springfield and Robinson -- by a combined 91-35.
The national media has taken notice as Stone Bridge is currently ranked 19th in USA Today's Super 25. The only other Virginia entry in the rankings is Oscar Smith, a Chesapeake school rated 16th.
The Bulldogs are obviously receiving plenty of love in regional and state rankings. Along with being No. 1 in any type of Loudoun exclusive rankings you will find, Stone Bridge tops the list in Gameday's Power Poll that spans the Northern Virginia corridor, and is No. 2 in VirginiaPreps.com statewide rankings for Group AAA schools.
Broad Run, the defending Dulles District champs who are off to a 2-0 start, are ranked fourth among AA schools by Virginia Preps. The Spartans are also ninth in Gameday's Power Poll. Briar Woods (13th) and Potomac Falls (15th) are also ranked in the Power Poll.
