Local high school teams to ball at the Verizon Center
Before the Wizards and 76ers take the court Dec. 22 at the Verizon Center, the varsity boys' and girls' basketball squads from Loudoun Valley and Loudoun County high schools will show off their hoop skills.
In cooperation with Home Care for the Cure, an organization which works to eliminate deaths resulting from hemophilia, the Vikings and Raiders will play a varsity doubleheader in the afternoon prior to the NBA game in the evening.
Here's the schedule:
Loudoun Valley vs. Loudoun County (girls), 1 p.m.
Loudoun Valley vs. Loudoun County (boys), 3 p.m.
Dinner break, 5 p.m.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Washington Wizards, 7 p.m.
Tickets are available through both school's athletic departments. Loudoun Valley has also organized a bus trip for students and Loudoun County is looking into doing the same.
