Ashburn Blog: Burn Bootcamp Studio celebrates one year in Ashburn

As a division one college soccer athlete, Lindsey Treadway said she has always been active and “could eat whatever she wanted” without noticing much of an impact to her body.

After having her first child – that all changed.

“I couldn't get my body back to where I was and I did not know how to eat properly,” Treadway said.

She discovered Burn Boot Camp, a company based out of Huntersville, North Carolina, when she was living at the time.

“The workouts were hard but you felt really accomplished afterward. I loved it,” she said.

The program includes meeting with trainers about nutrition, reviewing body diagnostics, and becoming part of a “great community” of fellow workout partners.

Treadway liked the organization so much, she became a certified personal trainer and decided to open her own franchise in northern Virginia, near where she grew up in Arlington.

She has teamed up with her brother, Chris Palmiero, who recently retired from U.S. Army, and now serves as the head trainer at Burn Boot Camp.

“He has really grown it to what it is today. He is very motivating, inspiring and funny,” she said.

In one year, she said they have had an “amazing response” and seen “huge transformations.”

“It is so awesome to see the results,” Treadway said.

No two workouts are the same at Burn Boot Camp, she said. They are designed for all fitness levels and utilize high-intensity interval training as well as burst and strength training. In addition, they offer free child care to help make it easier for moms to find time to work out.

“We modify the exercises so anyone can do them. It is personal training in a group setting, that is the great thing about it,” Treadway said.

Treadway is hoping to open more locations in the area over the next few years – she is looking at Reston, Arlington, South Riding, Leesburg and Purcellville as possible opportunities for the next franchise. Burn Boot Camp is located at 44190 Waxpool Road, Suite 132 in Ashburn. Visit burnbootcamp.com for additional information and class schedules.
