Ashburn Blog: Chick’s Picks to unveil fall show Oct. 5

Hillary Tattersall loves a good sale, and she also likes to support small, locally owned and women- owned businesses.

So for the past 12 years, Tattersall has taken that passion and created specially curated design shows, focusing on the hottest trends in fashion and home design.

Known as “Chick's Picks by Hillary,” thousands of people flock to her events, held several times a year. The fall show is being held at the Barn at One Loudoun from Oct. 5-8, providing about 3,000 square feet of space which Tattersall merchandises herself.

Following one of the big trends this fall, Tattersall has selected a black, white and metallic theme.

“I started challenging designers to come up with products after I was seeing black and white everywhere,” Tattersall said.

Shoppers will find marbled soaps, charcuterie platters in marble, items in black and white gingham, buffalo plaid, pencil case totes with black graphic designs, jewelry, and lots of Halloween and Thanksgiving décor – all with the black and white theme.

“There may be fifty vendors represented, but one check out, which gives it a boutique feel,” she said.

Tattersall feels it is important to help other women business owners and said “this makes it really special.”

“It is fun to pick a new venue each time. I always change vendors and designers and love to have a theme,” Tattersall said. “We have a really great relationship with the vendors and we really encourage and inspire each other,” she added.

The show starts Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the One Loudoun Club House, 44605 Russell Branch Parkway in Ashburn. The pop-up will also be open Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. There will be food trucks on-site throughout the event, such as Coffee by Java Jen from 9-11 a.m. on Thurs. and Fri., lunch by Flavour from 11:30-2 on Thursday, and lunch by the Happy Crepe on Friday from 11:30 – 2 p.m.
