Belfort Furniture Surprises Employees with Edible Art Cake

It was a sweet surprise when employees attending the Belfort Furniture staff holiday party held at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg on Dec. 3 were surprised to see that the desk, front and center in the room, was actually a layered spice cake.

Complete with all edible accessories, including a lamp made of white chocolate, a Belfort Furniture catalog, a Stone Tower wine bottle and a wine glass. The edible work of art was made by Stacked Custom Cakes in Ashburn. Erin Schwartz, Stacked Founder, Pastry Chef and Cake Artist and Joe Mariano, Stacked Partner and Certified Executive Chef, unveiled the cake at the party for an upcoming "Ridiculous Cakes” television show that will air on the Food Network in 2018. Camera crews were on-site taping the event in front of awed employees.

"I was so honored when Erin and Joe approached us to use Stone Tower Winery as the venue to film footage of their cake unveiling for the TV show, “Ridiculous Cakes.” Then, we they decided to make a desk cake, we could not have been more thrilled. We are very fortunate to have so many talented, successful businesses In Loudoun County, like Stacked Custom Cakes, who are always looking for ways to partner with other businesses…that’s the icing on the cake,” said Michael Huber, Founder, Belfort Furniture and Stone Tower Winery.
