Middleburg Blog: Motorist alert

Middleburg has changed parking enforcement recently. The parking meters have been replaced with signage alerting motorists of designated parking time limits. The change is to a new electronic enforcement system used to determine whether a vehicle has parked beyond the time limit for that space. Warnings will be issued for a short period of time before officers begin issuing citations.

Community leaders, residents, and those who visit the area along Route 50 West, especially along the scenic by-roads connecting to this highway, are continuing to appeal to those who use these country roads. Please respect the communities’ needs and abide by the traffic laws and restrictions. These roads are in the middle of horse, wine and farm country with trucks and horse trailers, tractors and other machinery frequently entering and exiting the roads. During hunt season, drivers should watch for riders and hounds crossing the roads, and always please expect wildlife to cross anywhere anytime. Western Loudouners need and want visitors to come, see and enjoy the area, but please be considerate, slow down, and enjoy the views. Help keep our country roads safe.
