Purcellville Blog: Smokin Willy Re-Opens after Expansion and Renovation

After being closed for two weeks to complete renovations to the restaurant, Smokin Willy re-opened on Nov. 27 with a new look and expanded interior design.

Owned by local resident Chris Scharrer, the restaurant has been a Purcellville favorite since it opened about six years ago. Scharrer always dreamed of renovating the space and he has been working and planning to make the spot fit his vision.

General manager Elyse Hall said the space has been "completely gutted" to create more space and a new look she describes as "rustic, industrial."

"We are bigger and better. We have added about 25 seats, so we now have seating for 140," Hall said.

The bar space has been doubled and there is now full bar service available, she said, with ten more beers on tap, now totaling 30. They also have added a margarita machine.

The menu remains the same - Smokin Willy serves Tex Mex BBQ style food, available for dining at the restaurant or carryout. Catering service is also available. Favorite menu items include smoked and pulled pork, brisket, ribs, salads, wings, burgers, sandwiches, and Tex Mex tacos.

Smokin Willy is located at 201 North Maple Ave in Purcellville. They are open daily; 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Sun. - Thurs. and 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Fri. and Sat.

Purcellville Woman's Club Hosting Holiday Tea

The community is invited to enjoy a "British Holiday Tea" with guest speaker Hillary Coley, owner of Dominion Tea, who will speak on "Adventures in Tea Importing."
