Loudoun’s breweries, wineries get in the holiday spirit

A holiday pop-up brewery with seasonal drinks, gift wrapping for a cause, ugly sweater parties and more festive fun can all be found at Loudoun's breweries this holiday season.

At Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn, customers are invited to stop by for “Pints and Present Wrapping” and leave the gift wrapping to the Ashburn Rotary Club on Dec. 17 and 23 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Gift wrapping paper will be provided and the Ashburn Rotary Club will be the beneficiary of the event.

Lost Rhino Brewery in Ashburn is hosting an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. Bring your own vinyl and join the fun at Lost Rhino's tasting room on Red Rum Drive. Ugly sweater judging will begin at 8:15 p.m.

Old 690 Brewery on Ashburn Church Rd. in Purcellville has recently launched their Christmas Pop-Up Brewery with seasonal drink specials, festive light displays and live music.

Special seasonal drinks include Peppermint Twist – made with their Dark Chocolate Milk Stout beer and flavored with peppermint. There is also at Toasted Snowman made with Old 690 Amber Ale and toasted marshmallows, and Naughty Elf, made with Blond Ale and gingerbread flavors. Their holiday brew is Ol' Man Winter, which is an amber beer made with honey and seasonal spices.

Santa will be visiting Old 690 from 2-4 p.m. on Dec. 16. They are also hosting Winter Warmth Sunday on Dec. 17 and will be collecting donations of non perishable food items or new winter clothes to help local families in need this winter season.

Sunset Hills Vineyard is hosting a Holiday Market Dec. 16 and 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. with live music and shopping for great wine, gourmet snacks and handcrafted gifts. Vendors include Second Chance Glass by Monique Mayer, Lady A Knits by Andrea Gillis, and many more special wine gift basket items. Sunset Hills is located at 38295 Fremont Overlook Lane in Purcellville.
