Piano symphony concert at Riverside HS this weekend

A symphony of pianos will perform at Riverside High School Feb. 17 for the 31st annual Fairfax-Loudoun Music Fellowship Concert.

The concert will be conducted by Maestro Jeffrey Sean Dokken who has performed all over the United States, including the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall.

"We have a very young and dynamic conductor for our concert this year," said event organizer Jane Webb.

Six baby grand pianos will be on stage with two to three students -- ages 9 to 19 -- on each piano. The group consists of 125 students and 15 teachers.

The pianos used in the concert are on loan from The Piano Company in Leesburg. Webb said the concert is free and open to the public.

Webb said they will perform a wide range of music from classical to contemporary, and the pianists will be accompanied by strings, vocalists and drummers.

"We are very excited to be at Riverside High School this year. It is very exciting and we look forward to it every year," she said.
