The fourth Annual Winter Ice Fest and Mega Block Ice Carving Competition, held at the Village at Leesburg and sanctioned by the National Ice Carving Association, returns to Loudoun County Jan. 14.

The free event will feature eight world-renowned ice carvers competing for prizes in an eight-block competition, which begins at 9 a.m. The festival itself officially kicks off at 1 p.m. and lasts until 5 p.m.

Attendees can take a picture with the “larger than life” Village at Leesburg signature sculpture in the plaza and custom sculptures outside Village at Leesburg boutiques and restaurants.

“Stroll the boulevard and enjoy music, s’mores staffed by girl scout troups from Leesburg Unit 70-9, plus warming stations and photo ops with the Washington Capitals Red Rockers and Slapshot,” notes an event announcement.
