Come on, Irene

I’m really starting to like this natural disaster week thing going on here in Loudoun County - sure is LoCo up in here. Sorry, I had to.

But, people have to realize, here in Northern Virginia, we really don’t have that much to get excited about. So whenever we hear there’s going to be a hurricane or a huge blizzard (ultimately nothing happens) people just lose it. They run to the stores stocking up on milk and toilet paper - because that’s just what I want - a bunch of rolls of toilet paper and milk. I mean my brother’s wedding was last weekend so I’ve got my ‘case(s)’ of emergency if you catch my drift.

What will really happen? I’m guessing a lot of rain. And hey! Rain is cool, it helps the grass and the flowers and such. Why all the frenzy people? Are we bored? We did just have an earthquake! Come on ...

Now that I’m spouting all these things about how the hurricane will be nothing we will most likely get hit hard and it will become complete mayhem. All I know is that I live in a basement and I don’t really feel like wading around this weekend. Man, this blog is filled with puns - I’m on a roll!

I’m just thinking of ways I’ll have fun this weekend. Now I won’t have to purchase that slip ‘n slide anymore because I’ll just have a flowing river in my backyard. Forget about laundry, I’ll just hang all my clothes on the clothes line and soap ‘em up! Now the only thing I need is my row boat back…I guess my cousin Ted could just row it down and since he’s in Maryland it’d be a short commute via boat.

Overall, I’m pumped. I’m looking forward to hurricane themed activities or maybe even turning my house into a tiki hut.

So come on Irene, don’t disappoint me. I did after all miss the earthquake, and I need my natural disaster fill.
