The most-awaited event opening the Summer festival season is upon us in Northern Virginia, especially for Fairfax, Loudoun County and Leesburg residents - the Northern Virginia Summer Brewfest!  American craft beer and live, local music aficionados from all over the Washington DC area and points beyond will converge June 23rd and 24th (Sat./Sun.) at Morven Park in Leesburg VA for a dazzling celebration of local, regional and national American beers from over 50 breweries.

Virginia is for lovers — beer lovers, officially! This yea’rs NOVA brewfest comes smack on the heels of a new Virginia law now allowing you to buy your favorite brews right from the brewer. A recent bill signed by Governor Gob McDonnell allows customers to buy and drink beer at the brewery, without requiring the brewery to also run and maintain a restaurant onsite. The Governor this year also named August as “Virginia Craft Beer Month” - therefore the perfect month to review all the fabulous beers tasted at the NOVA Summer brewfest in June, and prepare for the onslaught of the NOVA Fall brewfest in September.

In addition to the cold, tasty, refreshing beer sampling, great outdoors barbecue and festival food, plus a sampling of local businesses and crafters - live local and regional bands are performing onstage all weekend long - everything from Indie, Country and Classic Rock covers to original “Grass Roots Rock”, Mashups and Americana. The bands include Flow in the Dark, Shane Gamble, Josh Burgess, The Greenbeets, Story for Hire, Levi Stephens and Rebelicious.
