Wolf Trap Celebrates Earth Day

Wolf Trap is hosting a pre-Earth Day Celebration showcasing its commitment to sustainability and early childhood arts education. Wolf Trap’s renowned early arts education programs will engage and inspire 100 preschool and Kindergarten children to go green.

With an eco-themed, musical, puppet theatre show, Junkyard Pirates and a performance by the Wolf Trap Jazz Trio, young children learn the 4 R’s – Recycle, Reuse, Reduce and Repair!

When: Wednesday, April 21, 2010, 10 a.m. to noon

Timed to the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, join us to learn about Wolf Trap’s Go Green program, and how efforts to date have resulted in a 20 percent reduction in the Foundation’s carbon footprint. Come see how Wolf Trap is leveraging the power of the arts to inspire the next generation to protect the planet. Wolf Trap is one of the only arts organizations with a formal Go Green plan. This month, the American Society for Civil Engineers—National Capitol Section selected Wolf Trap for its 2010 Sustainability Award.
