COMMUNITY RELATIONS MANAGER Loudoun County Animal Services is seeking applications for Community Relations Manager to oversee the Department's customer service and volunteer program operations. Position is responsible for supervising staff and ensuring consistent, professional communications with members of the public. Position oversees all front counter operations to achieve the goals/objectives of the Department's mission statement and management plan; assures operational compliance with State Laws and County Ordinances; manages the volunteer program/services. Successful candidate will develop and implement policies and procedures, and encourage creative and innovative ideas to improve methods of service delivery to the citizens of Loudoun County. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two years of directly related experience. Experience with animal sheltering, work in a veterinary practice or in an animal kenneling/board environment preferred. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred. Requires valid driver's license. Animal Services may be a physically demanding occupation with the potential for exposure to infectious diseases and viruses, and injury from animals, noxious fumes and chemicals, as well as risk of injury. A rabies pre-exposure vaccination series will commence immediately upon hire unless proof of prior vaccination is provided. Must be able to handle animals weighing up to and over one hundred (100) pounds and lift animals weighing up to 75 pounds. Must have the ability to work during crisis situations, which may require work in the evening and on weekends. May be called upon to work in or represent the Department at the Emergency Operations Center during disaster/emergency events. Certification in CPR/First Aid within six months of appointment. Candidate will be required to obtain certification in Incident Command System 100, 200, 700 and 800.
