    Bettas Give Back Campaign Begins
    photo

On Saturday, June 16, 2012, the Bettas Swim Team kicked off their first “Bettas Give Back” campaign by collecting items for the Loudoun Animal Shelter and challenging their opponent, the Lansdowne Lightning, to match their contributions.  Brambleton residents were also encouraged to drop off much needed items.  Items collected for the shelter included treats for dogs, cats and other small animals, toys, blankets and more.  The first campaign was a huge success, and the Loudoun Animal Shelter was truly grateful.

During their second campaign which took place on Saturday, June 26, 2012, the Bettas collected school supplies for Briar Woods Cluster.  If you would like to take part in the next “Bettas Give Back” campaign, it will be held on July 11, 2012, where Bettas will face off against Lovettsville Dolphins and will be collecting food for Loudoun Interfaith.  Donations can be dropped off from 7:00 - 12:00 p.m. at the Brambleton Community Center pool, 42645 Regal Wood Drive, Ashburn, VA 20148.

Supporting local charities through their “Bettas Give Back” campaign, the Bettas Swim Team hopes to get the children more involved with community service this summer.  In challenging opposing teams to match donations, the swim team hopes to inspire others.

Community support for their upcoming campaigns is very much appreciated.  For more information, please contact Kate Shanley at 703-542-6276 or Leigh Schoener at 703-473-3899.
