| Sam Ray collecting coats for the homeless by Pam Ray |
Ms. Pam Ray of River Creek says, “Recently, I’ve been reading about the Mobile Hope program out of Inova Loudoun Hospital” This program is designed to help, as Pam says, “…over 650 homeless children in Loudoun County. This number shocked me.”
As a result her son, Sam, a fifth grader and member of the Boy Scouts has taken the reins in organizing a clothing drive for the homeless. “We are collecting new or gently used (and washed) clothing for the Share our Warmth project with the Mobile Hope van that drives around helping kids and tries to give them what they need.” The Ray family address is 43278 Warwick Hills Court in River Creek and Sam is inviting people to bring “sweatshirts, coats, hoodies, gloves, or hats .” You can leave them on the front porch if no one is at home. He also will pick up clothing. Just call him at 703-7771-7564 and he will come by and collect your donation. The clothes drive will continue until Friday November 4.
