photoThank you to the Brambleton Group for an amazing show!

On Saturday, June 25th, the Brambleton Community Association and Activities Committee hosted one of the community’s biggest events of the year.  Red, White and BRAM:  Picnic on the Plaza made it’s inaugural debut with about 3000 in attendance.  Think of one big patriotic picnic for the entire community, add on a few concerts to include Rebelicious, Rocknocerus and Crowded Streets; throw in some food, beer and wine vendors, topped off with an amazing fireworks show.  And as parents relaxed, kids were able to participate in field games, play with bubble and sand stations, get their face painted or just run around with their friends.

Although the event was scaled back from previous years (formerly referred to the Freedom Fest), the attendance was still strong.  There were no moon bounces or carnival rides, just good old fashioned fun.  “I actually like how it’s more low key, and I don’t have to stress about my kids wanting to run off in three different directions.  I can just relax, and they can play with their friends close by.”, explained one resident.  Snow fencing around the entire perimeter was key and eased the minds of parents as their children ran off to participate in tug of war and potato sack races.  A special thanks to The Brambleton Group for sponsoring the fireworks display.  Just when it seemed that the fireworks were over, another song would play.  It was truly fantastic and gets better every year.  The best part of the show was Katy Perry’s song Firework at the end - a perfect ending to the evening!

Rest assured, the moon bounces and carnival rides will be back for a two-day celebration as Brambleton celebrates its 10 year anniversary this year.  Come out to Brambleton on September 23 - 24 for the annual Fall Festival.  This year is gonna be big!
