Kristi Nimmo River Creek’s Poet
photoKristi Nimmo

River Creek resident, Kristi Nimmo has been known to the community as an artist and organizer of the annual art show at the Clubhouse.  Perhaps less known is her passion for poetry.  She says she wrote her first poem in the third grade and has been a faithful writer ever since.  She says, “In high school, I’d spend my summers reading Rolling Stone Magazine from cover to cover, and there were always these short poems to read in there.  My parents had given me an old manual typewriter to write with and part of the allure was the feeling of writing on the typewriter.”
These days she says she sometimes sits for three hours with two other women and “we write poetry.”
She has poetry published in Psychic Meatloaf: Journal of Contemporary Poetry, Numinous: Spiritual Poetry, and Mouse Tales Press.  Her latest published poem can be found at http://www.carcinogenicpoetry.com/
