Purcellville:
The Town would like to remind residents and businesses to be vigilant of their water use as we enter into the hot and dry months of the year. With the precipitation figures in June well below normal by 2.0 inches and the U.S. Drought Monitor indicating that portions of our region are experiencing moderate drought levels (D1), the Town asks that our community refrains from non- essential water use such as washing cars, sidewalks and driveways. Town residents and businesses should pay close attention to their water uses both inside and outside to reduce water use in all possible areas. Any irrigation activities should be reduced or if possible eliminated.
The Town of Purcellville will continue to proactively monitor our water resources and provide additional updates throughout the month if needed. We would also like to remind our citizens and businesses of our innovative water conservation incentive program that provides cost effective water saving opportunities for our community. The Town appreciates the awareness and cooperation of our water customers during this hot, dry season and encourages all water users to continue their efforts to conserve water. To learn more about how to conserve water and our incentive rebate program visit the Town’s Web site at http://www.purcellvilleva.com under the Drinking Water section.
