South Riding Mother, Teacher & Author
photoStephanie Togni

Stephanie Togni, owner and teacher of Togni Tots, a South Riding based preschool has made children the focus of her life for almost 18 years and has touched the lives of many South Riding families.  She recently combined her passion for teaching with her passion for writing.  When asked what inspired her to write she replied, “It’s been a dream of mine since I was a child and it was time to embrace my dream.”  She went on to explain how she and an old high school friend, Eric Williams, joined creative talents a year ago when she decided to write a book.  Jesse Rissmiller, a gifted artist and Stephanie’s cousin, recently graduated from The Art Institute of Colorado and happily agreed to provide the unique illustrations.  They bypassed the large publishing houses and chose the growing popularity of self-publishing.
The book, Adventures of The Little Red Car: Journey to the Pyramids, will inspire the imagination and wonder of 3-6 year olds.  Older elementary age children will be captivated by the exciting glimpse into geography.  “In this age of technology, where even young children spend a lot of time with electronic devices, I wanted to return to simple imagination.  I wanted to give a child’s mind an opportunity to go on a real journey,” Togni commented on her approach to this book.  She previously wrote a book about Christmas traditions with her children and will be releasing a second edition of her Christmas book soon.  She also has several other books started and has begun work on the second book of The Little Red Car series.  “I try to instill creativity and a sense of wonder in my students and my own children.  I hope I am able to inspire some memory-making moments for the children and families who read my books.”  One can find Adventures of The Little Red Car:  Journey to The Pyramids at http://www.createspace.com/3699885, on Stephanie’s website at http://www.maggieloubooks.com or on Amazon.com.
