Magnolias at the Mill | Review | Located almost right at the end of the W& OD Trail and housed in the refurbished flour mill, Magnolias at the Mill has an old Loudoun style to it with wooden beams and remnants of its old function remaining as part of the décor. It’s part of what makes Magnolias such an integral part of Purcellville’s downtown.
Hooked Seafood & Sushi | Review | Sometimes you just need to get out of the office and your regular stomping grounds for lunch. With that in mind, I convened a working lunch last week at Hooked in Sterling.
Blue Ridge Grill | Review | For newcomers, there’s a restaurant that plays host to many of Leesburg’s natives. Located off the main streets near the Route 15 bypass, this local chain has made a name for itself in the area.
China King | Review | One of the great boons from the increased diversity in Loudoun is the variety among our local restaurants. Even so, it pays to recognize Loudoun’s first Chinese restaurant, China King.
Carolina Brothers Pit Barbeque | Review | It’s an Ashburn tradition and always a treat. Located at the old Partlow’s store, Carolina Brothers have long been a popular stopping point for this with a taste for Carolina-style barbeque.
Kraze Burgers | Review | This is not your father’s burger joint. With gourmet burgers becoming a popular option around Loudoun, the newest addition to our local constellation is Kraze Burgers in the Lansdowne Town Center
Finnegan’s Sports Bar and Grill | Review | With the fall upon us and football season underway, it’s the time young men begin to look for local pubs.
All American Steakhouse | Review | With football season back upon us, you might be looking for a good place to watch the game and grab a meal as well. You can’t do much better than All American Steakhouse in Ashburn. Family friendly and with a strong menu, either the dining room or the bar area provides multiple big screens to catch every moment of the game.
Jasmine Chinese Cuisine & Sushi | Review | I ventured out to Market Station for lunch this past week and was lucky enough to stop into Jasmine Chinese Cuisine. Located on the lower level, it has a nice comfortable atmosphere and an attentive staff … basically an ideal location for lunch.
Anthony’s Italian Mediterranean Cuisine | Review | Anthony’s is a bit of both worlds. It’s a comfortable new family restaurant in Ashburn, but it comes with the experience of an established and popular restaurant in Purcellville.
South Riding Inn | Review | One of the tricks in dining is finding out where the locals go. Visiting the South Riding Inn, I think I’ve found them.
Ledo Pizza | Review | A regional chain based in Adelphi, Md., Ledo Pizza was established in 1955. Their rectangular pizza remains their calling card, although the chain is quick to point out that circular pans were new when the restaurant was founded.
Glory Days Grill | Review | With the Olympics all around us, you’re forgiven if you just want to sit in a nice sports bar and catch the action.
Amphora Diner Deluxe | Review | If you’re out on the town in the late evening and not quite ready to return home, you’ll notice there are few options in the area. However, locals know that a 24-hour getaway is waiting for them just over the county line in Herndon.
Travinia Italian Kitchen | Review | There is a vast menu to choose from and you can't help but enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.
Anita’s ‘New Mexican Style’ Cafe | Review | Having spent my youth regularly visiting my native Texas, I should be able to proudly proclaim how bad the Mexican food is in the Northern Virginia. Fortunately for us all, it’s just not true – and Anita’s is part of the reason.
Palio Ristorante Italiano | Review | Sticking your head into Palio, you might assume that it’s a small bistro, but ascend the staircase to your left and diners discover a wide-open restaurant space – and one where the patrons are typically enjoying their meal.
Carolina Brothers Pit Barbeque | Review | If you’re looking for quality barbeque, chances are you’ve already gotten in the car and started heading for Carolina Brothers.
Puccio’s New York Deli | Review | Downtown Leesburg is known for its dining, but Puccio’s remains something of a secret left for those who work here during the day. Or so the staff here tell me as they almost daily return with bags filled with various subs and sandwiches.
Genghis Grill | Review | Mongolian stir fry is just fun – and I hadn’t realized that I’d missed it until I sat down for lunch on the chain’s opening day in Sterling.
Melt Gourmet Cheeseburgers | Review | Attention please, there’s a new local burger joint in Leesburg. Melt is located off the main strip in Leesburg and it has some gourmet burgers that make the trip worthwhile.
Old Town Grill | Review | Looking for a dining adventure on cold night last week in Leesburg, I decided to finally try out Old Town Grill Steak & Seafood.
Thai Deelish | Review | Driving along Ashburn Farm Parkway, I was intrigued by a new option for Thai cuisine in the area. Stopping by for dinner, I was taken with the little restaurant, decorated with a modern, eclectic feel. | 2 comments
Cheeburger Cheeburger | Review | I have something of a phobia in relation to perfectly round burgers. I’m certain it’s not uniformly the case, but I always imagine that they’ve sat frozen and desolate for days before hitting the grill. And that’s part of the reason, I devoured the burgers at Cheeburger Cheeburger so rapidly, leaving nothing on my tray but crumbs.
China Village | Review | China Village certainly sits in the right spot, located near the CountrySide Safeway and in a market with several strong Asian restaurants, it provides some tasty food to bring home.
Fire Works Wood-Fired Pizza | Review | Leave it to the owners of Tuscarora Mill to operate a pizza shop that combines the atmosphere of a local pizza joint with some inventive high-quality cuisine. | 3 comments
Windy City Red Hots | Review | Some days you just want a hot dog with all the trimmings. Windy City Red Hots has it – and they offer a nice lunch for a low price. | 3 comments

Paris Prestige | Review | You’re certainly forgiven if you’ve never happened by before, but one of the interesting things about Loudoun are the little shops and restaurants off the beaten track. | 7 comments

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill | Review | The most recent addition to a growing chain out of Charlotte, N.C., Firebirds grills over open flame – which provides dinners warmth and wonderful smells right as they walk in the door. | 4 comments
Mimi’s Cafe | Review | Many people hear the word “café” and imagine the restaurant is either hopelessly affected (and likely to serve food that’s too experimental) or one more focused on atmosphere than cuisine. Mimi’s Café could prove you wrong. | 6 comments
Magnolias at the Mill | Review | Located not far from the trail’s end of the W & OD Trail in Purcellville, Magnolias is one of the town’s favorite dining locations and there’s no secret why. | 14 comments
Leesburg Restaurant | Review | For me, Leesburg Restaurant means peanut soup. It’s an unusual treat and one that fills you up. | 4 comments

The Greene Turtle | Review | With a wide-open floorplan and friendly service, the Green Turtle serves the Potomac Station community, particularly those interested in the many big screen sports matches. | 6 comments
Blue Ridge Grill | Review | If you want to eat well, go where the natives eat. That’s the general rule, and a glance around Leesburg’s Blue Ridge Grill will tell you that the restaurant has a lot of the natives. | 1 comment
Coney Island Diner | Review | While not particularly fancy, the diner makes for a fun change of pace and one where your whole family will find something to chew on. | 11 comments
Anita’s New Mexico Style Cafe | Review | As a Texan, I am genuinely very hard on Mexican food, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t extend my regular appreciation to Anita’s “New Mexico Style” Mexican food.
‘Pain and Gain’ (R) | Review | A trio of Miami bodybuilders (Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie) kidnap a personal training client and force him to sign over his belongings in this true story adaptation.
