‘The Woman in Black’ (PG-13)

There’s nothing like a good ghost story. Messages from beyond and subtle glimpses into the spirit world through mysterious sounds and shifting objects can really make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

And while the finest thrillers move slowly before the scare, the danger is in moving so slowly that the audience tends to lose interest – as happens in “The Woman in Black.”

Having watched him survive the “Harry Potter” movies, it’s difficult not to root for Daniel Radcliffe. Transitioning to this emotionally bleak role, he performs well and certainly looks the pasty part of a Edwardian-era lawyer. Even so, his own solid performance isn’t enough to sell the extremely slow tension build.

Likewise, “The Woman in Black” is almost worth seeing simply for the realistic production value. The clothes, scenery and location are impeccable.

The machinations of the haunted house never quite play right, moving from the too-subtle to the over-the-top far too quickly.

Feeling more like a late-night period piece from BBC America than a spine-tingling, gothic thriller, it succeeds on style but not really on substance. It’s too bad they didn’t give us an adaption of the Wilkie Collins’ 19th century mystery “The Woman in White” instead.

When a ghost starts yelling at John Geddie, he politely leaves.

Opening: “Journey 2:The Mysterious Island,” “Safe House” and “The Vow”

The static object shadows got me thinking, is it possible to mod the game so that the land itself casts shadows? Right now the ground does shade itself appropriately, somewhat at least, it seems, depending on the position of the sun, but the terrain itself doesn’t cast a shadow.I’m not sure how much that would hit performance but it would look amazing if possible. Especially the day/night transitions. It may even aid in nighttime looking like true night (I know nighttime in Skyrim always looks off because everything is still casting a regular shadow. You can’t really see your shadow at night, not in the country at least, unless there’s a full, bright moon).

Looks epic! honestly, I am grateful for all the skilled modders that have put there time into this epic game over the years. I cant wait to whoop it out and re-binge it!I tried version 1 . 3 and experienced only these problems:Vurts animated grass was broken, I could not see it in game it just looked like a horrible mess all over the floorTrees in the distance looked blocky, if I walked close to it, eventually it would fix it self. seemed to be a draw distance issue. Some trees (again) would appear out of nowhere in the distance and look horrible.Sorry for the lack of technical referance to the problems. I am hoping v2.0 will fix it, I have reinstalled Morrowind Vanilla with all previous Morrowind overhaul Data deleted. Is it true that this version will have a self installer? or do we need to upgrade from 1.3?Much regards and sorry for the long post (TL:DR? Adam x
