It’s an Ashburn tradition and always a treat. Located at the old Partlow’s store, Carolina Brothers have long been a popular stopping point for this with a taste for Carolina-style barbeque.
As a former neighbor of this local favorite, the best part of the experience is the barbeque smell, which filters throughout the area. Carolina Brothers hickory smokes all of the meats, which only adds to the flavor.
Pulling up to the friendly counter, you’re offered a choice of beef, pork or chicken. I’ve become partial to the pork, but I always leave with an extra tub for sandwiches the next day.
And while the barbeque is the hook, I still maintain that they have about the best baked beans in the region.
Located off the W& OD Trail, the store makes for a great location for a bicycle break. There are tables set up in the store although not quite enough to guarantee dine-in. The tradeoff is the location’s unique feel and the various items for sale in the store. If you haven’t tried out the authentic barbeque at Carolina Brothers, you’re missing out.
