Driving along Ashburn Farm Parkway, I was intrigued by a new option for Thai cuisine in the area. Stopping by for dinner, I was taken with the little restaurant, decorated with a modern, eclectic feel.
I started off with an order of Sunshine Beef (Nua Dad Deaw), a tasty appetizer of marinated thin strips with a spicy sauce.
For the entrée, I moved on to a dish called the chicken volcano. How can you not love that? Also called Gai Yang, it’s cornish game hen grilled with herbs and spices. Served with a sweet chili sauce and sticky rice, the dish wasn’t quite as spicy as I’d imagined, but the portion size was extreme, causing me to finally ask for the remainder in a to-go box.
Thai Deelish seems to have been adopted by its Ashburn neighborhood. Sitting down to enjoy a quick meal, I noticed at least 10 locals stopping by for take-out. It’s a sign that pad thai is still popular in Loudoun.
