I am writing to you to express my outrage that I, as a Virginia voter, do not have a full slate of candidates from which to choose to represent me at the Republican Convention. I don’t want to choose between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. I want the full slate; I want to be able to vote for the candidate that I personally feel will best represent my vote.
I am not interested at this stage of the game in settling for the candidate whom others have decided can
beat President Obama. My feeling is let them fight it out at the Republican convention if that is what has to happen.
I would like Governor McDonnell to make an immediate executive decision and halt the printing of the ballots this week. I would like the Governor, the Attorney General, or whomever has the power to correct this problem immediately. I don’t want to hear that it can’t be done this year but it can be done in future year. I want to hear that they will fix it now.
It seems to to me an executive can make a decision on a dime and make things happen that serve the will and the best interest of the people.

Joan, Please move to another state if you don’t like the rules. Romney and Paul are the two best candidates for the republicans to beat Obama. Newt has no chance since he’s lied/cheated while in office(once a corrupt politician, always a corrupt politician). He should have been thrown in jail.
There should at least be a place for write-in candidates. Otherwise, people who don’t want to vote for Romney or Paul are not disenfranchised, like they will be.
It’s very surprising to me that there is no place for write-in candidates.
Joan Joan Joan…..just because these candidates have ignorant staff doesn’t mean Virginia should change the law. Ignorance is not an excuse. Tough love baby, tough love. Besides do you really think Perry and Newt will still be in the race by that time?
Joan, do we want a newt as a president? Nuff said!
Joan, take your outrage to some other cause. If long-established Virginia rules are not followed, the candidate does not get on the ballot. If a candidate can’t plan and execute a campaign properly, they don’t deserve to be President!
Joan, most of the candidates (Huntsman, Bachman, etc.) CHOSE to not be on the ballot. Perry and Gingrich failed to get enough support for the ballot. If Romney and Paul could do it, they could too. This is a matter of their staff failing them, not the Virginia rules. The Attorney General has already said as much (and he is a good conservative) and is refusing to change the ballot. That’s how it is, like it or not. Plus, if a candidate’s staff is so disorganized now, would you even WANT them running this country?
