    American treats serving abroad
    Courtesy photoCourtesy photo
Some U.S. troops serving in Afghanistan received an extra treat this past week from a local Girl Scout troop.

Girl Scout troop No. 2753 donated 70 boxes of cookies that were enjoyed by servicemen and women in Afghanistan. This group, U.S. Air Force troops, returned a photo to express their appreciation.

This Lucketts-based Girl Scout troop sold 1,176 boxes of cookies so far this spring. An additional 30 boxes were also donated to Loudoun Interfaith Relief.

Cookie sales continue throughout the region at special booths in the community.
