An Ashburn man pleaded guilty today in Loudoun County Circuit Court to five counts of possession of child pornography.

Scott Schoffstall, 54, of 22613 Mason Caree Square, is scheduled for sentencing at 4 p.m. June 14 before Circuit Court Judge Thomas Horne.

Schoffstall faces up to five years in prison on one count of possession of child pornography and 10 years for the subsequent offenses.

Virginia is a no parole state, meaning he must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.

Schoffstall was arrested April 24 after members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Northern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at his home, according to court documents.

During initial questioning, he denied possessing child pornography, but eventually confessed to having it on his computer.

Schoffstall, according to court documents, told authorities he was collecting the imagines to turn over to law enforcement. He later admitted to using the images for sexual gratification.

The imagines, according to court documents, portrayed underage boys and girls in sex acts.

Schoffstall was indicted by a Loudoun County Grand Jury on Oct. 10.

He’s free on a $25,000 bond, according to court records.
