Chantilly Harris Teeter robbed at gunpoint Tuesday
photoPhoto courtesy/Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office A video surveillance camera captured this image of the two men as they allegedly robbed the Harris Teeter grocery store early Tuesday morning.

A Chantilly grocery store was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday by two men.

The men, who had their faces covered, came into the Harris Teeter grocery store about 2:20 a.m. in the 42000 block of Village Center Plaza, according to a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office report. One of the men was carrying a firearm.

During the robbery, reports say one Harris Teeter employee was pushed to the ground, but was not injured.

The two men forced their way into two cash registers and and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about this robbery to contact Detective T. Sheffer of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475.

Callers wishing to remain anonymous are asked to call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the information leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

It appears that both Leesburg Today (LT) and the Loudoun Times Mirror are having difficulty in reporting the correct location of this particular Harris Teeter store.

According to Harris Teeter’s site, this “Stone Ridge” store is located in the town/village of Aldie and not Chantilly as reported here, nor Ashburn as reported by LT.

Also, I would think that stores like this which are opened late at night and into the wee hours of the morning would take the appropriate precaution in protecting its employees and shoppers by hiring a security guard, and one who is armed.

last time I checked zip code 20105 is considered Aldie, VA - not Chantilly, VA.
