Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week is Feb. 7-14. The purpose of the week is to bring awareness of congenital heart disease, which is the most common birth defect and the leading cause of birth defect-related deaths worldwide. CHD affects approximately 1.8 million families in the U.S. and has a relatively small amount of funding available for parent and patient educational services, research and support. CHD affects approximately 40,000 babies each year in the U.S. and by providing experiences and information with Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week, brings hope to additional funding and support.
Visit tchin.org for more information on how to provide support.
