    Burglary
    Aug. 18, 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
    A TV was stolen from a home at the 45600 block of Wembley Central Terrace in Sterling.

    Aug. 18, Midnight – 3 a.m.
    A TV and game system were stolen from a house at the 43200 block of Center St. in South Riding.

    Aug. 18, 5 p.m.
    Thieves stole money from a house at the 43100 block of Belgreen Drive in Ashburn.

    Aug. 20, 4:06 a.m.
    Although nothing was reported missing, residents of the 25200 block of Dunvegan Square in South Riding found that someone had damaged the front door to their home.

    Destruction of Property
    Aug. 16-19
    The glass of a house door at the 42200 block of Rhett Drive was damaged by unknown persons.

    Aug. 17-18, 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
    A car on Sterling’s Leatherleaf Circle reported that their windshield was damaged. Two more residents of Leatherleaf reported damage to their car windshields at 9:38 a.m. and 10:05 a.m. on Aug. 18.

    Aug. 18, Midnight – 1:09 p.m.
    A bench on McPherson Circle in Countryside was damaged with graffiti.

    Aug. 18, 6:36 p.m.
    Someone spray painted graffiti in a tunnel near Algonkian Parkway and Lowes Island Boulevard in Sterling.

    Driving Under the Influence
    Aug. 11, 12:34 a.m.
    Douglas F. Schmude, 36, of Purcellville, was arrested for DUI near the intersection of North Maple Ave. and Wordsworth Circle in Purcellville.

    Aug. 16, 12:27 a.m.
    Robert T. Callahan, 49, of Round Hill, was arrested for DUI near the intersection of West Main Street. and 33rd Street in Purcellville.

    Aug. 16, 6:14 a.m.
    Laura Anderson, 44, of Round Hill, was arrested for DUI near the intersection of West Main Street. and 33rd Street in Purcellville.

    Aug. 16, 10:35 a.m.
    Jason Kozlowski, 31, of Winchester, was arrested for DUI near the intersection of Route 7 and Route 287 in Purcellville.

    Larceny
    Aug. 1-19
    Someone took 40 shutters from an unlocked barn at the 41300 block of Stone School Lane in Leesburg.

    Aug. 15-17, 9 p.m. – 9 a.m.
    Two air conditioning units were stolen from the 300 block of Church Road in Sterling.

    Aug. 16-17, 11 p.m. – 5 a.m.
    A digital camera was taken from a car on the 20900 block of Fowlers Mill Circle in Ashburn.

    Aug. 17
    Two vehicles were broken into along the 20900 block of Fowlers Mill Circle in Ashburn. Two GPS units and an iPod were stolen.

    Aug. 18, 2:30 a.m.  – 3 p.m.
    A laptop and clothes were stolen from an unlocked car at the 21600 block of Mitchell Court in Ashburn.

    Aug. 18-19, 9 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    Thieves stole several items, including tools, a bicycle, cell phone and camera, from an unlocked car on Bruceton Mills Circle in Ashburn.

    Aug. 19, 9:50 p.m. – 10:15 a.m.
    Money was stolen from two cars in an open garage at the 22000 block of Crested Quail Drive in Ashburn.

    Malicious Wounding
    Aug. 18, 1:23 a.m.
    Mathew Shnayer, 25, of Sterling was arrested after a fight. He allegedly struck another party with a bottle, leaving the victim with cuts on the head and neck. The incident occurred at the 44000 block of Ashburn Shopping Plaza in Ashburn.

    Missile
    Aug. 17-18, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.
    Someone shot a bb gun at a home on the 200 block of Virginia Ave. in Hamilton, damaging a window.

    Swindle
    Aug. 13, 5:10 p.m.
    A resident of Purcellville reported that someone had attempted to obtain money under false pretenses.

    Warrant
    Aug. 11, 8:31 p.m.
    Sahil Nayyar, 19, of Purcellville was arrested near the intersection of Hirst Road and North Maple Ave. in Purcellville and charged with narcotics and liquor law violations.
