    Auto Theft
    March 16-17, 7 p.m. - 10:30 a.m.
    Residents of the 800 block of South Greenthorn Avenue reported the theft of a 1996 Ford Windstar. The vehicle later struck a parked vehicle at the 500 block of East Poplar Road and was abandoned there when the suspects fled the scene.

    Assault
    March 15, Noon - 12:44 p.m.
    Judy M. Ramos, 25, of Sterling was arrested after allegedly attempting to assault a male victim with a knife during a fight at the 46100 block of Ingomar Terrace in Sterling. She was charged with drunk in public, malicious wounding and obstruction of justice.

    Larceny
    March 13-14, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
    Parcel packages were stolen from the 43800 block of Dodge Terrace in Ashburn.

    March 14, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
    A wallet and a firearm were stolen from a car at a construction site at the 20500 block of East Hampton Plaza in Ashburn.

    March 14-15, 3:15 p.m.
    Electrical wiring was stolen from a construction site at the 41500 block of Great Smokey Drive in Aldie.

    March 15-16, 6 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
    A heat pump was stolen from a vacant home at the 200 block of Magnolia Court in Sterling.

    March 16, 9:09 p.m.
    A resident of the 23000 block of Minerva Drive in Ashburn reported seeing two men wearing dark hoodies fleeting from their car. An iPod was stolen from resident's car.

    March 17, 6:50 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.
    Thieves broke into a car at the 21000 block of Dulles Town Circle in Sterling by breaking the window. They stole a GPS and a bag with clothing in it.

    Missile at a Vehicle
    March 17, 6:20 p.m.
    The driver of a vehicle traveling in the area of Route 7 and Belmont Ridge Road reported that an older model red Honda civic pulled beside them and threw what appeared to be a rock at their car.

    Pursuit
    March 16, 1:52 a.m.
    A Sheriff's deputy initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Belmont Ridge Road and Hay Road in Ashburn. The car continued without stopping for several miles before the driver lost control and crashed near Waxpool Road and the Dulles Greenway. Martin J. Mahnken, 33, of Ashburn, was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving- disregarding a signal to stop.

    Shooting
    March 17, 2:35 a.m.
    A juvenile was shot by the owner of a home at the 45900 block of Pullman Court in Sterling. For full story, click here.

    Sobriety Checkpoint
    March 15-16
    The Sheriff's Office held sobriety checkpoints at the intersections of Promenade Drive and Belmont Ridge Road and then at Riverside Parkway and Diamond Lake Drive in Ashburn.

    Vehicles checked: 393
    Drivers screened: 24
    DUI charges: 1
    Driving without a license: 7
    Driving on suspended license: 2
