Crime Report for Monday, Jan. 28, 2013
Jan. 27, 9:20 p.m.
A 43-year-old Sterling man reported being assaulted by several men at a restaurant at the 300 block of Enterprise Street in Sterling. He received minor injuries and declined medical treatment. The incident is under investigation.
Jan. 25, 6:13 a.m.
A pedestrian was hit by a Loudoun County Public Schools waste management vehicle near the intersection of Plaza Street and Cattail Lane in Leesburg. The 38-year-old female was attempting to cross the street on foot on her way to work and had entered the crosswalk when the truck was turning left. The pedestrian fell forward on the ground and was treated and released from the emergency room. The truck driver, Michael Reed, of Harpers Ferry, WV, was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Jan. 27, 1:45 a.m.
A dark green 2000 Honda Odyssey was stolen as it was left unattended and running at the 45900 block of Denizen Plaza in Sterling.
Destruction of Property
Jan. 25-26, 9 p.m. - 8:19 a.m.
Graffiti was spray-painted on a garages at the 43100 block of Cardston Place, the 18600 block of Drummond Place and the 43100 block of Allenby Way in Leesburg. At the 18700 block of Potomac Station Drive in Leesburg, graffiti was spray painted on a car’s side mirrors.
Jan. 27, 1 a.m.
A resident of the 20900 block of Trinity Square in Sterling reported hearing a loud sound and later found one of his doors damaged.
Jan. 24-25, 8 p.m. - 7 a.m.
An iPod was stolen from a car parked at the 20700 block of Rainsboro Drive in Ashburn.
Jan. 24-25, 9 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.
A pair of sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle at the 17300 block of Arrowood Place in Round Hill.
Jan. 26, 6 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.
Several vehicles where rummaged through at the 43700 block of Laburnum Square in Ashburn. Small items and a GPS unit were stolen.
Jan. 26-27, 8:30 p.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Cash was stolen from a car at the 21000 block of Raintree Court in Ashburn.
Jan. 26-27, 9 p.m. - 10:30 a.m.
A cell phone and iPod accessories were stolen from a car at the 43500 block of Timberbrooke Place in Ashburn.
Jan. 27, 7:54 p.m.
A resident of the 43500 block of Coal Bed Court in Ashburn reported two cameras and an iPod stolen from their vehicle.
Jan. 25, 2:30 p.m.
A middle-aged white female in a small tan four-door passenger car pulled up next to a 12-year-old girl near the intersection of Bruceton Mills Circle and Lemon Tree Place. The two had a short conversation and the older woman asked the girl if she wanted to get into the vehicle. The child said no and went home.
Jan. 27, 7:30 p.m.
A juvenile was walking in the area of Youngs Cliff Road and Memory Lane in Sterling with an older white man in a dark colored vehicle stopped and asked him if he needed a ride. The child declined and the older man left the area.
