    Crime Report for Monday, Sept. 17, 2012

    Destruction of Property
    Sept. 14, 9 p.m. – 11:46 p.m.
    An ATM at the 42400 block of Regal Wood Drive in Ashburn was damaged. It appears as if vandals were attempting to force it open.

    Sept. 15, 9 p.m. – 11:55 p.m.
    Graffiti was found on a fence and other locations at several Ashburn locations including, the 2100 block of Glendower Court, the 21000 block of Glendower Court , the 43700 block of Timberbrook Court and the area near the intersection of Timberbrook and Highlands Court. The graffiti included “obscene language and image.”

    Sept. 16, 7:24 a.m.
    Vandals spray painted graffiti on the brick wall of a home at the 21400 block of Cedar Drive in Sterling.

    Larceny
    Sept. 13, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
    A purse and its contents were stolen from an unlocked car in an open garage at the 47500 block of Compton Circle in Sterling.

    Sept. 15, 1 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
    A tablet was stolen from a car at the 44400 block of Oakmont Manor Square in Ashburn.

    Sept. 15-16, 6:30 p.m.
    A navigation unit was stolen from an unlocked car near the intersection of Acacia Lane and Moran Road in Sterling.

    Sept. 15-16, 9:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.
    An iPod and loose change was stolen from a car at the 45400 block of Oak Trail Square in Sterling. The thieves damaged a car window to gain entry.

    Sobriety Checkpoint
    Sept. 14-15, 9 p.m.
    The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Purcellville Police Department cooperated on a sobriety checkpoint on Berlin Turnpike near the intersection of Eastgate Drive. Three drivers were charged with driving under the influence. Additional charges were made, including possession of marijuana, driving on a suspended license and no operator’s license.
