Sept. 11-12, 9:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.
Vandals scratched the paint on two cars at the 44100 block of Tippecanoe Terrace in Ashburn. Two more Ashburn cars were also vandalized that evening, one at the 44100 block of Appalachian Vista Terrace and one at the 44200 block of Litchfield Terrace in Ashburn.
Pursuit
Sept. 13, 3:18 a.m.
A car traveling near the intersection of Route 7 and Sterling Boulevard failed to stop after a deputy initiated a traffic stop. Continuing onward at a slow pace, the driver and passenger allegedly fled the area on foot in the area of Doncaster Terrace and Cavcendish Square in Sterling. The driver was apprehended at the scene while the passenger was located with the use of a canine unit near Middlefield Drive and Algonkian Parkway. The driver of the vehicle, Herbert T. Norman, 19, of Sterling was charged with felony eluding, misdemeanor eluding on foot, obstruction of justice, misdemeanor hit and run and driving on a suspended license. He is being held without bond. The passenger, Fernando A. De La Cruz, 19, of Reston, was charge with failure to report a misdemeanor hit and run.
