Two-term Leesburg Town Council member Katie Sheldon Hammler has announced she is seeking re-election in the Nov. 6 Leesburg Town Council election. She will hold a campaign re-election “Kick-off” rally at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Mason Enterprise Center, 202 Church St. SE, Leesburg.
Hammler was elected to her first term on the Leesburg Town Council in 2004, and is the longest-serving council member seeking re-election. She was unanimously selected vice mayor, serving from 2006-2008. She is the appointed member from the Leesburg Town Council to the Loudoun County Economic Development Commission and the Joint Loudoun/Leesburg Annexation Area Development Policy Committee.
For the past eight years, Hammler has dedicated herself to energetically standing up for Leesburg tax-payers. She is “pro-business” and has worked hard to lower the residential tax imbalances through economic development initiatives.
