    Gas leak closes Leesburg streets
photoTimes-Mirror Staff Photo/John Geddie Leesburg Police officers and Washington Gas workers are on scene of a gas leak near Mom’s Apple Pie in downtown Leeburg.

Construction work at Mom’s Apple Pie in Leesburg has caused a gas leak tonight in downtown Leesburg.

Roads are closed from Loudoun Street at the east yield to Harrison Street. East Market Street from Catoctin Circle to Harrison Street is also closed. Leesburg Police are on scene directing traffic. The gas leak broke sometime before 7:30 p.m.

Residents reported smelling a strong gas odor coming from behind the nearby strip mall. Since the area is mostly commercial, no evacuations have been reported.

Washingon Gas workers are on scene at this time.

At 9:47 p.m., Alert Loudoun reported that Loudoun Street had been reopened.

I saw them on the food channel (was it Guy’s show) and it looked awesome. Somehow though, I haven’t tried them yet.

No. Not near Mom’s Apple Pie, someone needs to make sure their Key Lie pies are okay.  Seriously if you haven’t tried Mom’s you are missing one of Loudoun’s (sugary) Treasures.
