The Katelyn Hall Foundation will hold its fifth annual golf tournament April 5 at Lansdowne Golf Club.
The tournament, named for Leesburg 6-year-old Katelyn Hall, raises money to fight prematurity.
Ever since Katelyn was born in 2003 nearly three months premature with a 5 percent chance of survival, her parents Michael and Ashley have worked to raise money for organizations like the March of Dimes that fight prematurity.
In 2009, Katelyn was the National Ambassador for the March of Dimes.
“We made 90-plus appearances in over 50 cities and 15 states to spread the word about the March of Dimes and help make sure that one day all babies are born healthy,” Ashley Hall said.
The Halls got to meet President Barack Obama.
Proceeds from this year’s golf tournament will go to the Georgetown University Hospital NICU, where Katelyn spent 159 days, and to the March of Dimes.
