Inova Loudoun Hospital will officially celebrate its 100th anniversary June 23 will an afternoon celebration from noon to 4 p.m. at Ida Lee Park Festival Field.
Since it opened in a rented house June 5, 1912, Leesburg Hospital – as it was known by then – has served the community and its citizens.
The current location of Inova Loudoun Hospital opened in 1997 as the Lansdowne Campus of Loudoun Hospital Center. In 2005, the Loudoun Hospital Center merged with Inova Health Systems and Inova Loudoun Hospital was born.
Over the last several years numerous robotic systems and new facilities have been developed and opened at the hospital, including a Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System and the new Antenatal Testing Center earlier this year.
All members of the community are invited to attend the festivities which will include jugglers, stilt walkers, caricature artists, a rock wall, a teddy bear clinic, a DJ and more.
Those who attend the event will have the opportunity to be a part of Guinness World Record for people wearing the most surgical masks at one time.
Many giveaways and raffles will also be conducted throughout the course of the day, including a family prize package valued at $500.
People attending are asked to park in the front field and the event will be held rain or shine.
