Leadership in the Law Summer Camp will be held June 17-22. This camp is an opportunity for rising seniors from Loudoun and Fauquier counties to learn about the legal system.
The program is designed to allow students to work with local judges, lawyers, law clerks and other professionals to learn about the law. Students will learn the practice of criminal and civil law, courtroom procedures, crime scene investigation and handling and presentation of evidence using real-life crime scenarios. This year, the civil and criminal controversy will focus on cyber bullying.
The camp is free and 24 students will be selected from the private, public and home-schooled students. The last day of camp will feature mock trials in the Loudoun County Courthouse in Leesburg with a sitting circuit court judge presiding over the trials.
The camp is sponsored by the Loudoun County Bar Foundation, Loudoun County Bar Association, Fauquier County Bar Association and private law firms in Loudoun and Fauquier counties. For more info go to loudounbar.org or facebook.com/loudounlawcamp.
