Loudoun County Board of Supervisor Matt Letourneau (R-Dulles) provided his constituents with an update in construction progress at the intersection of Route 50 and Stonecroft Blvd. March 20.
According to Letourneau, the contractor has been unable to complete the work due to bad weather and has postponed it to March 22-23. On the night of March 22, at approximately 8 p.m. and through March 23, the signal at Route 50 and Stonecroft will be worked on, replacing the permanent poles with new temporary signal poles and signal heads.
Lane closures will be in both the Eastbound and Westbound directions of Route 50 until completion. Also, police officers will be stopping traffic periodically so that the signal subcontractor can remove the permanent poles and install the new temporary signal poles and new span wire. Upon completion of the work, the new intersection will be fully operational and the traffic configuration through the intersection will stay the same.
It is advised that delays are anticipated on Saturday, and it is recommended to utilize alternate routes.
