Wendell Brian Mansel |
A Loudoun County Grand Jury on Oct. 9 indicted an Annapolis, Md. man of solicitation to commit murder and attempting to commit a capital offense.
Wendell Brian Mansel was apprehended Aug. 3 in a murder-for-hire plot in Leesburg.
Earlier in 2012, Mansel approached a Leesburg man in an effort to find a contract killer to murder his wife. The man then contacted the Leesburg Police, who placed an undercover officer to pose as a hit man.
On Aug. 3, Mansel traveled to Leesburg and delivered a gun and valuables as partial payment to the officer. He was then arrested.
A trial has been set for April 22.
