    Loudoun schools, government offices closed Wednesday
    Shortly after 5 a.m., Loudoun County Public Schools announced that schools would be closed Wednesday, March 6 for inclement weather. All schools and administrative offices are closed.

    Loudoun County government is also closed, although employees staffing 24-hour county operations must work as scheduled.

    According to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, federal offices in the Washington, DC area are also closed, with emergency and telework-ready employees referred to the policies for their particular agency.

    The Town of Leesburg has declared a snow emergency, which means all vehicles parked on snow emergency routes must be moved to facilitate snow removal. These routes include Market, Loudoun and King streets.

    The Town of Leesburg government office are closed themselves with all public meetings cancelled for the day. The Thomas Balch Library is also closed for the day.

    As of 6:22 a.m., Ida Lee Park Recreation Center was open, but morning classes were cancelled. For updates, call 703-777-1368.

    Runway 17/35 at closed at Leesburg Executive Airport. Snow removal is underway.
