Man dies in car crash in Ashburn

Virginia State Police responded to a vehicle crash on Waxpool Road past Ashburn Village Road in Ashburn early Jan. 11 where a vehicle hit a guard rail and overturned.

According to Sgt. G. J. Totten of the Virginia State Police, the victim was ejected from his vehicle as his 1995 Mitsubishi Montero was overturning.

The victim was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital around 1:51 a.m. where he passed away.

Totten said that authorities do not know if alcohol was a factor in this crash. The victim’s name has not been released.

No matter whar the cause. A young life was lost and is absolutely not something to ne discussed in the way I see it rigjt now. How can i be 20 years old and be more mature than some of you insensitive people? Someone lost a son and you’re debating what went wrong? Your life must be pretty miserable if you have nothing else to do. Shame on you.

A life cut short, he was only 25 years old, and he will truly be missed. So many people will miss you Ivany. We know your looking down on us. Always and forever!

Bob - Please read what you wrote - it makes no sense or maybe you’ve watched Ghost Rider too many times.

The worst drivers are the dead ones.  They don’t care if they are killed in an accident, they just get a new car and drive again.  It is just terrible!

Go back to Ohio. The sprawl in Loudoun County doesn’t need ungrateful jerks like you.

Having driven in many places around the country, I can say the DC drivers are fairly poor. Lots of cutting to change two lanes to make a left or a right turn (when there is NO ONE behind me). Poor signage (Gee, is East 267 to DC going to be on the left or right lane on the other side of this overpass?).

The rude drivers that drive down a traffic lane and then cut to the front of a line in an off-ramp. I never let those people in. Suck it.

Then you have the dangerous gawking situation at accidents or construction zones that cause other accidents.

Yeah, you have people texting here, but I see a lot of people reading books or the newspaper while driving here (LA is bad for this too). Saw one guy reading a book sail right into the back of another car.

Lots of reports of people rear-ending another and driving away. First thing you do is take a picture of the car and license plate when you get out.

@ George Bailey ...there is a short stretch of guardrail on Waxpool, coming from the ice house, around that little curve there. Thats where it happened.

No where in Ohio has the population density and traffic problems that DC has. You cannot really compare the two.

From Ohio, never had a scratch on my car,had two rear end accidents.Everbodys in a hurry going nowhere.International license, bending rules, poor drivers. In ohio if you dont have a ohio drivers license, you take a schwinn bike. Also rude drivers.

When in Ashburn, look both ways before crossing an intersection, even with a green light. I swear that people run red lights and stops in Ashburn like it was a contest of chicken.

I’am sure SPEED was the factor.!!!! What is it in that area that people want to die to get to were they are going??? Got me hangging??? Loudoun county is a great place to cruz around in. But. I have not found a thing that is worth DIEING FOR….!!!!!!

Mistake in the reporting. It was just west of estate place on farmwell. Sheriff’s office had the whole road shut down there.

Where is there a guard rail at Waxpool and Ashburn Village?

Bummer. Bet he was not wearing a seat belt. Always wear your seat belt your life depends on it.
