Man intentionally steps in front of tractor trailer on Route 28

A man intentionally stepped in front of a 1993 Peterbilt tractor trailer this morning on Route 28 in an attempt to take his own life, according to Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The 8:07 a.m. incident shut down traffic on Route 28 for several hours.

The man, whose name and age was not released, was airlifted from the scene near South Sterling Boulevard with life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Thanks for the update. I too unfortunately saw this happen and have been looking for any kind of updates. I hope that he gets the help he needs. It’s amazing that he survived and that none of us around hit each other, it could’ve been so much worse. We all had angels watching over us for there to not have been a 10 car pileup, the truck to not jack knife, and an unmarked police car to be so close. Prayers continue for him and his family.

Brad is pulling through and now stable, I believe suffered some liver damage and will be in surgery to set a leg and placement of rods and pins. Unknown when he’ll be released. It will be awhile though. My Bro visited him last night with his mother.

I saw this thing happened and I’ve been ever since horrified. Anyone know the status of the man? It would be good to know if he made it.
