Dear Senator Sarbanes:

As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Immigration and Naturalization Service in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My reasons for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill’s pro visions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, what I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years.

I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out. Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I’m excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illeg al (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

some of you guys posting on here are absolutely ridiculous.  let’s rewind several hundred years and discuss the “immigrants” of that time.  your ancestors.  were they “legal”?  did they respect the “natives” living here? did they respect their land, and their way of life?  or did they come over here and persecute an entire population, force them off their land, infect them with disease, etc etc, and pretty much do whatever the F they felt like?!  you can try to brush it under the rug as much as you want, after all, its more convenient for you to ignore it, right?  Let’s face it.. this country is built on immigration whether you like it or not. i totally agree that it’s disgusting when people of ANY race or status commit some of the atrocities that the media is so quick to report.  but for every story advertising all of the things that “these people” (sarcasm) are doing wrong, there are many more untold stories about working families who are coming over here for a better way of life.  like many Europeans did years ago (to escape famine, poverty, etc).  Instead of being so quick to judge or assume, take a good look at your family history.  you might have more in common with these immigrants than you think.

The point is that the author of this article did not write whether or not the victim was here legally or not.  However, the fact the author choose to write: 
“A Guatemalan native, Garcia-Reyes told investigators, with the assistance of an interpreter…”
leaves the reader wondering and having to interrupt what it really means.  In my opinion the author found a slick way not to write undocumented (illegal) immigrant.

Really Oscar, I am surprised at your defense of illegals.  All the other legal immigrants I have met lately are from Cuba, Romania, Germany and Turkey. On food stamps, free lunches, WIC and other food related relief programs our government spends around $2.2 billion per year for the illegal immigrants. For proffering medical assistance to these illegal aliens each year $2.5 billion is spent. The cost for giving primary and secondary education to the children of illegal immigrants, around $12 billion dollars are washed out. If this isn’t enough, catch a glimpse of more expenses our government handles for nurturing these illegal infringers.

On anchor babies, the American government washes out a whooping $17 billion dollars each year and for incarcerating illegal immigrants on a daily basis $3 million dollars are spent.
To add more, they are taking away our jobs, are escalating the crime rate, using facilities that are coming from the pockets of an American citizen, who is now under a burden of no job and more tax. Illegal immigrants are just making the things bad for Americans to live in. Such a huge amount is spent on them just to ensure that they get the basic amenities for living and still they are back stabbing us and are simply deteriorating the circumstances.

This skyrocketing cost of illegal immigrants is compensated from the huge taxes that we pay to our governments, hoping that they will make OUR lives better and will avail better facilities for US. But, all our hard earned money is spent on these illegal immigrants who are doing nothing but frightening us. All this won’t be able to last for long. Our government must find some solution. If they are fine and comfortable with illegal immigrants then they should think of ways it does not become a burden for the working Native US citizens.

don’t waste our law enforcement time with this…he was either too drunk to know what happened OR knows exactly what happened but doesn’t want to tell.  if he doesn’t have proper documentation, send him home to recuperate and away from the danger here (sarcasm for that last part folks).
