    Update: Oct. 6, 7:58 p.m.

Tickets for Michelle Obama’s visit to Leesburg Oct. 9 will be available Sunday at two Loudoun County Organizing for America offices and a campaign shop in Winchester. The remaining tickets will be distributed beginning at 10 a.m. at the following locations:

-The Leesburg Organizing for America office at 56 Sycolin Road.
-The Sterling Organizing for America office at 46396 Benedict Drive, Suite 200.
-The Winchester Organizing for America office at 106 W. Boscawen Street.

    Original story: Oct. 4

First lady Michelle Obama will speak in Leesburg Oct. 9 at the Loudoun County Fairgrounds on Dry Mill Road around 5 p.m.

Free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the following locations:

-The Leesburg Organizing for America office at 56 Sycolin Road.
-The Sterling Organizing for America office at 46396 Benedict Drive, Suite 200.
-The Winchester Organizing for America office at 106 W. Boscawen Street.

According to campaign officials, Michelle Obama will speak about “what’s at stake in this election for Virginians, ask them to help organize their communities … and encourage everyone to register to vote before the upcoming Oct. 15 deadline.”

President Obama gave a speech Aug. 2 at Loudoun County High School, telling a crowd of several thousand that if he wins Loudoun, he’ll win the commonwealth of Virginia and go on to secure a second term in the White House.

Viewed as a pivotal swing state in the contest between Obama and Republican Mitt Romney, Virginia went blue in 2008 for the first time since 1964.

“right h”, how predictable to dismiss as a Fox news or opinion “bubble”—how about CNN Money?

    http://money.cnn.com/2012/09/28/news/economy/spending-cuts-fiscal-cliff/index.html

If you don’t think it’s “nice” to discuss Lockheed Martin agreeing to this, then maybe it would be “nicer” to dicuss today’s hearings on the Libya disaster and coverup?  reuters already has coverage posted on that.

Or how about the online donor scandal, with the Prersident’s donation website being based in China with a former Chicago associate and donor, which does not require online security that costs the campaign millions?  The campaign’s store site requires more security to buy a coffee cup than to make a donation.  “Nice” that coming out—in Newsweek—right after the huge September haul of which 98% was below the threshhold for reporting.

    Would those be “nicer”?

or do CNN, Reuters and Newsweek not meet the bar for you?

Barbara Munsey, I’ll suggest you do research outside the Fox News bubble.  The Obama administration is in fact correctly following the WARN Act, which explicitly disallows blanket notices to all Department of Defense (DOD) contractors before Congress specifies what contracts are to be cancelled.

Fox News, Charles Krauthammer and other ideologically-driven news/opinion makers have jinned up this WARN act nonsense and you’re falling right in line with it.

How about you suggest to your GOP friends that they support a bit of compromise and then the sequestration consequences that they voted to set in motion won’t have to happen.

That truly would be “Nice, huh?”

@tonyF, only a few even have doubt as to who won and lost the debate. My problem with Obama(I voted for in last election) was for change in DC, economy and jobs. His priority was health care. And he blamed others, not a good leader to blame others. So, what will change in his second term? He did play over 100 rounds of golf so hopefully his golf game got better, guess that’s an accomplishment….

I will eagerly await reading the reporter’s story covering the first lady’s visit and will compare side-by-side his coverage of Ann Romney’s latest visit.  I don’t think I will be surprised how wonderful this article will be comparatively (photos and all).  I really don’t understand why our “local” paper is so pro-Obama.

President Obama may have lost the debate to “etch-a-sketch” Governor Romney but we are electing a president, not a Debator-In-Chief. Polls show that the two are still very close with the president with a slight lead as he was before the debate.  I am looking forward to being in the audience and welcoming the First Lady to Leesburg tomorrow—-welcome Michelle!!

Spark, you may wish to do a little research—The Obama administration has asked defense contractors to violate the WARN ACT, by not notifying employees of the layoffs that will come.  To make it palatable for them to violate the law in NOT apprising their employees that their jobs are going belly up (until AFTER the election—then it’s okay to tell them), the administration has offered to pay their fees in any lawsuits resulting from the failure to comply with WARN.

SO, IOW, thousands of people in NoVA may already be fired and they won’t know it, and after the election they’ll have the privilage of paying their employers’ fines for lying to them.

    Nice, huh?

@spark, News Flash: The Federal govt will get cut by either candidate since Obama plans major military spending cuts vs Romney stating not cutting military but cutting back on federal employees. Do you really think that if major military projects are cut, that that won’t affect the Federal jobs force? Major military cuts will affect this area 10 times more than some minor Federal jobs cut from Romney. You might want to rethink your thought process. Add a little common sense and logic to your thinking….

before the debate, Obama lost virginia. I voted for him in 2008. I’m an independent. I hate leaders that blame others.

Don’t bet on it Skid.  There a tens of thousands of Fed workers or contractors for the Fed, that live in NOVA.  Why vote for a president that is sure to cut jobs in the Fed sector ?  It may happen anyway, if Congress doesn’t act by Jan 2013, to stop the automatic cuts.  And before you praise smaller govt, remember, your neighborhood is probably full of feds/contractors.  If they lose their jobs, they’ll lose their homes, and your home will lose $$$...No one will win.  I’m voting for my job.  Everything else is secondary to a job.

SkidRow….doubtful….at least Obama was smart enough to leave Big Bird out of the debate.  Of all things to complain about spending money on, PBS is not one of them.  Again Romney shows how detached he is from reality.

Better scope the arena, dial back expectations and remove a few more seats so it will look packed.
Virginia is red…and after the first debate, it got a little more red. Check the polls.
Just like Jimmy Carter in 1979, who entered the debates 4 or 5 points up in the polls. And when American s actually saw Reagan was not what they’d been told he was, they responded eagerly and elected him. This year is eerily like 1979. We’ve just seen democrats fumble a request by an Embassy for an emergency exit strategy in the Middle East, and we’re about to find out that another Border Patrol agent has been killed by Fast and Furious. Not to mention the administration actually forging employment numbers. Wait for it…this is about to get comically cruel for dems.

Welcome to Loudoun County, Michelle Obama!
We have much to learn from her.
Michelle Obama’s family saga is a remarkable, quintessentially American story—a journey from slavery to the White House in five generations.
    Michelle Obama is America’s future.

Tell John Kerry a debate win wins an election.

Virginia is a purple state from now on in presidential election.  An amazing change from just 10 years ago.

    Welcome back First Lady!!!

    get your dog his shots!

After the debate, Obama has lost Virginia.
