Evergreen United Methodist Church announced the completion of its first church building at 19619 Evergreen Mills Road in Leesburg. The first worship service in the new building will be held at 10 a.m. March 10.
The official grand opening will be celebrated with worship at 10 a.m. on Palm Sunday, March 24. Anyone without a church home is welcome to visit for Biblical teaching, heartfelt contemporary music and age-appropriate care and classes for children and youth of all ages.
There will also be an open house at the new building from 4 to 8 p.m. March 3. All are welcome to tour the facilities and meet people from the church at that time.
The new building contains a 200-seat sanctuary, as well as office space, a kitchenette, and nine classrooms. The United Methodist church has owned the property since 1999, freely making it available to Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services and Loudoun Soccer as youth soccer fields, which will reopen this spring.
Being developed adjacent to the property is Evergreen Sports Complex, featuring multiple lighted turf fields and other recreational facilities. The Sports Complex is independent of, but operating in cooperation with, the church.
Evergreen Church met for 11 years in Evergreen Mill Elementary School, and since the fall of 2010, has met in Loudoun Country Day School.
