Lori Kimball has been appointed to the position and she will manage daily tour content and ongoing research projects, design educational and general programming and present Oatlands’ history to the public.

Kimball holds a degree in business administration from Bloomsburg University and she earned her certificate in historic preservation from Northern Virginia Community College in 2006.

Kimball has been an advocate for Loudoun’s preservation efforts for years and is the current president of the Loudoun Preservation Society.

She has also served on the boards of several local preservation opportunities, including the Waterford Foundation, Friends of Thomas Balch Library and currently the Preservation Virginia Northern Virginia Regional Branch Board.

She was also the recipient of the Thomas Balch Library History Award in 2010.

“Oatlands has been at the forefront of historic preservation and education for five decades,” Kimball said in a press release. “I will be proud to develop a variety of programs that increase Oatlands’ outreach in the local community and across the region and the nation.”

Oatlands Executive Director Andrea McGimsey was thrilled to announce Kimball was joining the team.

“We are delighted that Lori is joining our team at Oatlands,” McGimsey said in the release. “She will bring her strong experience in Loudoun and her love and knowledge of history to one of the nation’s most beautiful and well preserved historic assets.”

You forgot to point out—-
Why would they follow the the law?  The law is for others, not them; they make the law for you to follow.  And worse, certainly when found to be breaking the law, it is not their fault; they did not know.  Sounds like more entitlement syndrome.

I agree with Dan.  Your comments are ignorant, disgusting and soil the good name of the Times Mirror.  I trust the editors will see them and remove them immediately.

It is against the law to solicit contributions unless you are registered with the state to do so.  Above the law?  What’s going on?

If you are smart, you will quit before you even start.  Andrea McGimsey is totally abusive to her staff and rude and obnoxious to everybody she has power over.  Just look it up online or talk to some of her prior staff assistants with Loudoun County.  There is a reason the voters fired her attitude having self.  Go work for anybody else, or you will end up miserable like the rest of us.
