The owners of Lovettsville’s award-winning restaurant, Market Table Bistro, plan to open a new restaurant in Purcellville.
Jason Lage and Rebecca Dudley say their new restaurant, Market Burger, will move into the space on West Main Street formerly occupied by Jose’s Pizza, which closed its door earlier this month.
Northern Virginia magazine last month named Market Table Bistro one of the 50 Best Restaurants in Northern Virginia.
Lage, a 16-year restaurant veteran, has served as executive chef in many fine dining restaurants, luxury resorts, inns and hotels in the Washington area, including Lansdowne Resort, Jefferson Hotel and the Oval Room in Washington.
Lage studied and worked at Michel Bras in Laguiole, France (Michelin 3 Stars) as well as Pierre Gagnaire in Paris, France (Michelin 3 Stars).
Upon returning to the U.S., Lage was the featured chef at the James Beard House for three consecutive years.
Lage met his business partner, Rebecca Dudley, while working at Lansdowne Resort. Dudley’s command of the dining room as a front-of-house manager is the perfect balance to Lage’s mastery in the kitchen. The couple lives in Lovettsville with their dog, Apollo.
Lage is a staunch supporter of the farm-to-table concept and has developed personal relationships with the farmers and purveyors who supply the ingredients for Market Table Bistro.
Market Table Bistro’s local suppliers includes Quarter Branch Farm, Milcreek Farm and Dog Star Farm in Lovettsville; Oakland Green in Lincoln; Cherry Glen Farm in Boyds, Maryland; and Tiny Acre Farm in Unison.
Local vineyards supplying Market Table Bistro include Corcoran and 8 Chains North in Waterford; Notavia; Breaux; Catoctin Creek and North Gate Vineyards in Purcellville; Bluemont Vineyards; and Hiddencroft Vineyards in Lovettsville; as well as Catoctin Creek Distillery Spirits in Purcellville.
Market Table Bisto is one of the few local restaurants to serve local wines. Wished others would follow suit!
We can combat “sprawl homgenization syndrome” and this is one way. Patronize locally owned non-chain restaurants. Looking forward to visiting.
This is GREAT! These guys serve wonderful food! Can’t wait to see the menu.
Purcellville is borderline sprawl.
Sprawl = the people only eat at chain restaurants and shop at chain stores
But with a name like Market Burger, I suppose all I can do is assume they serve burgers until I see their menu for this location. I would love for them to serve their current Market Table Bistro menu at this new location.
Jules check out their menu online they are are not a burger joint. http://www.markettablebistro.com/
I hope it’s more than just burgers though… we need more food options in Purcellville!
GREAT PEOPLE AND GREAT FOOD!
YAY! Jason and Rebecca are the BOMB! I cannot WAIT for this new restaurant to open!
